Risen - PC RPG Game

Risen is a single player RPG game released by Piranha Bytes. The game was released on October 2, 2009.

The game has a fictional medieval settings in a huge fantasy island called Faranga. The game story is arranged into chapters and a player will gain access only to certain parts of the island after finishing chapters. Like many fantasy RPG games, Risen is full of dungeons, keeps, dangerous creatures and magic of course. The island has different sub-climate and vegetation zones. Faranga is full of dangerous creatures like wild boars, wolves, skeletons, thunder lizards, ghouls, ogres and gnomes.

The storyline starts with cinematic where a main character is on the boat. The sea giant smashes the boat and after some time a player wakes up near the shore of Faranga. Then player starts to explore island and meets other people from different factions - Soldiers, Mages or a group of bandits. Main character has a few skills and knowledge at the beginning, but a player will be able to acquire new skills throughout the game.
